RM Auctions Offers Four High Quality Mercedes Cars at their Amelia Island Auction – 300SL Roadster, 190SL, 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet and McLaren SLR Roadster!

RM Auctions can be considered the ‘official’ auction of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, held in conjunction with that event at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island. RM has a little over 90 total lots being offered at their sale, just four of them are from Mercedes-Benz. The four cars RM is offering represent some of the most collectible Mercedes cars from several decades. Of course there is the token 300SL, a roadster in this case, a pretty white 190SL with red interior. It will be interesting to watch this car on the block as RM is coming off of a huge 190SL sale in Scottsdale in January, the 1961 Tunis Beige example that sold for $264,000, $40,000 more than it’s high estimate. A much sought after 1971 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet will be available, in Anthracite Metallic, one of my personal favorite colors for those cars. Rounding out the Mercedes offerings from RM is a 2007 SLR McLaren Roadster, an example of extreme engineering from the mid 2000s decade. While these McLarens aren’t the newest this on the block at the moment, I think they’ll be appreciated in the future for the technological marvels that they are.
